Tohoku University has signed a comprehensive agreement with Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd., and all the students can use Microsoft Office and other services for free while you are in university. This page provides how to install Microsoft Office.

1. User
- All the students at the university can use this service.
- After you leave the university by graduation or completion of your studies, you will no longer be able to access the services.
2. Installation of Microsoft Office
2.1 Authentication
You need Microsoft365 ID, Tohokudai ID and Tohokudai ID password to install Microsoft Office on your devices. Confirm the IDs and password in Confirmation page of Tohokudai ID, your Tohokudai ID notification letter or Integrated Electronic Authentication System in advance.
2.2 Windows, macOS

2.3 Android, iOS, iPadOS
- Install Microsoft365 Copilot from Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS or iPadOS). Apply your own Google Account / Apple ID to log in to Google Play Store / App Store.
- Open Microsoft365 Copilot app., and tap ‘Account.’ Then input your Microsoft365 ID, and tap ‘Next.’ If the log-in window of SSO appears, then input your Tohokudai ID and Tohokudai ID password, and tap ‘Login.’
2.4 Notice
- Microsoft 365 should only be installed on your own personal devices. It must not be installed on devices shared with your family.
- A network connection is required for the automatic authentication performed about once a month.
- You can install Microsoft 365 up to 5PCs, tablets and smartphones each.
